The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 "Foxbat" is one of the fastest and highest-flying military aircraft ever built. Developed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War, it was designed primarily as a supersonic interceptor and high-speed reconnaissance aircraft to counter advanced American bombers and reconnaissance platforms such as the XB-70 Valkyrie and SR-71 Blackbird.

Capable of reaching Mach 2.83 (3,000 km/h) and operating at altitudes above 20 km (67,900 ft), the MiG-25 became a symbol of Soviet aerospace engineering and remains one of the most iconic interceptor aircraft in aviation history.
